Vic Sotto and Pia Guanio breakup

They have been going steady for only more than five years so the break-up of Vic Sotto and Pia Guanio cannot be attributed to the so-called seven-year itch.

“They simply drifted away from each other,” said the informant. “No third party, no lovers’ quarrel, no nothing. It’s not true that Pia got tired waiting for Vic to propose marriage. Wala siyang ganoong expectation. ‘Yung drifting away from each other was mutual.”

That is, despite unconfirmed rumors that Vic has been seeing a non-showbiz lady executive. Both Vic and Pia are mum on the matter and they seem to be putting up a happy front on Eat, Bulaga! As if, you know, nothing happened. There’s another Pia in Vic’s life and her name is casually dropped as one of the probable causes but those close to the un-couple said that could not be because “that Pia” has been abroad for a few years.

Last Holy Week, Vic and Pia (“G,” that is) were still okay during a vacation in Indonesia. But in July, they quietly parted ways, that’s why, according to one of those in the entourage, “they were not sweet sa isa’t-isa anymore during Eat, Bulaga!’s show in Anaheim, California last month.”

Ladies (all Bulaga co-hosts) linked to Vic usually quit the show when the romance ended…as in “co-terminus…” among them Chiqui Hollman, Coney Reyes, Christine Jacob and Kristine Florendo. Oops! Did I miss somebody? Sorry, dami kasi nila, eh! Will Pia “G” go the same way? Well, there’s always an exception, right?

Don’t look now but comedian Vic Sotto has found a new lady in his life.

This one, however, is not for a “play thing” for Vic, who is known for his ties with many women.

The new girl, Gwen Zamora, a 19-year-old Australian-Filipino beauty, is Vic’s new Fae or Mrs. Enteng Kabisote.

Gwen, who was personally handpicked by Vic, is described as enchanting no less by the Philippine press.

And Gwen, thus, is ecstatic about her new role.

“Having been blessed with this very significant role, I would most probably play the role in my own unique way, at the same time portray the character in the movie as best I can,” she promised.

Gwen, who was launched by GMA-7 along with Cebuana cover girl Ellen Adarna and radio bombshell Andi-9, is more than just a pretty face, according to one media report.

She was identified as a daughter of an internationally known pastry chef and is well-traveled and multi-lingual. She got bitten early by the acting bug and starred in her first stage play at 14. She studied acting abroad, took a variety of dancing lessons, and is currently studying filmmaking in St. Benilde, Malaya reported.

How determined is she to make it in showbiz? “Very,” she said. “I always put my heart and soul into anything I do. I’m pretty confident I can handle anything thrown my way. I love challenges.”

Gwen is currently playing another fantasy heroine in the ongoing TV tale of “Grazilda.” Viewers agree that she is a perfect fit as Cinderella, Grazilda’s stepsister.

Gwen’s stunning looks have also captured the advertising industry. Aside from endorsing Jollibee and Bingo, she was signed by as endorser for Dr. Vicky Belo’s Belo Essentials products.

Gwenaelle Zamora or simply Gwen Zamora is a French, Italian, Vietnamese and Filipino blood, daughter of pastry chef Philippe and Agnes Teresa.

Born in Australia and moved to Philippines when she was 14 years old, Gwen has been enrolled in digital Filmmaking in the College of St. Benilde. At age 19, she has traveled across the world and in fact has lived in various parts of the world because of his father’s postings in several five star hotels.

Her stay in Thailand was also one of her most memorable experiences. She says, “What surprises me about Thailand is how multicultural it is. You can look to your right and see a McDonald’s and then look to your left and see a temple.”

Gwen shares that it was tough being the new girl in town — repeatedly. “I had to adapt to the different cultures. This experience, however, strengthened me in ways you cannot imagine. Having been ‘ping-ponged’ from one country to another made me very street smart. I can talk to different people and connect with them since my values and ideologies are multicultural,” she said.

Now she in showbiz, she is one of the casts in the film Si Agimat and Enting Kabisote as Faye.

Gwen appreciates the significance of playing “Faye” who is already long-familiar name. She expressed, “I feel very lucky and grateful that I was presented for this role. Knowing that this was not meant for just anyone, having the part makes me feel blessed!”

“I am overjoyed that I get to work with big names such as Bossing Vic Sotto and certain others that everyone should look out for. The story is going to be exciting.”
