MANILA, Philippines – Model-actor Derek Ramsay is ready and willing to face football player Emilio \u201cChieffy\u201d Caligdong in a bout of one-on-one football.<\/p>\n

\u201cWin or lose, it would be fun,” Ramsay said in an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Feb. 24.<\/p>\n

Ramsay made the declaration in response to a dare Caligdong made in an earlier interview, wherein the Azkal\u2019s booter said he wanted to impress Ramsay’s girlfriend, actress Angelica Panganiban, by playing a friendly football match with the latter’s boyfriend of four years. <\/p>\n

Caligdong admitted that he has a big crush on Panganiban.<\/p>\n

In a separate interview with abscbnnews.com, Ramsay said he sees nothing wrong with Caligdong expressing admiration towards Panganiban.<\/p>\n

“Okay lang na may crush siya kay Angel,\u201d said he. \u201cMaraming may crush sa kanya kasi maganda si Angel.”<\/p>\n

Caligdong’s declaration of affection for Panganiban follows closely on the heels of his other teammates having declared their showbiz \u201ccrushes,\u201d among them Phil Younghusband, who admitted admiration for actress Angel Locsin; and Jerry Barbosa who, only last week, revealed his liking towards actress Melai Cantiveros.<\/p>\n

As a result of his declaration, Younghusband was able to snag a “date” of sorts with Locsin over the weekend, as confirmed in news reports.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

MANILA, Philippines – Hunk actor Derek Ramsay defended his girlfriend Angelica Panganiban from the nasty tweets of an Azkal fan.<\/p>\n

\u201cIm not pissed off about the comments made about me,\u201d the actor said on \u201cShowbiz News Ngayon,\u201d March 3.<\/p>\n

Ramsay was referring to the exchange of tweets between Angelica and the fan that sprang from the actress’ comment that she\u2019s sad to learn that Phil Younghusband of Team Azkals has now gone into acting via a cameo in an indie film.<\/p>\n

Ramsay explained that his girlfriend\u2019s tweet was taken out of context.<\/p>\n

\u201cAng sinabi lang ni Angel which I completely understand and agree with is hindi niya ina-attack \u2018yung mga players ng Azkals. What she was just saying is how the team should be focused kasi they have a lot of responsibility right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor believes the Azkals should concentrate more on their football games, more so now that they\u2019re up against a good team.<\/p>\n

\u201cAng problema ngayon, ang taas ng attention na binibigay sa Azkals. They have a lot of head looking over their shoulders. The whole country is watching them and so far, they\u2019ve performed. They have one more task to perform which is to beat Mongolia in Mongolia. Ang sinasabi lang ni Angel, maybe they should be focusing more on that.”<\/p>\n

On March 3, Angelica tweeted this message which sparked various reactions on Tweetverse, \u201csi phil may indie film… Akala ko ba football player sya??? \ud83d\ude41 lahat na lang artista na \ud83d\ude41 sad…\u201d<\/p>\n

An obviously Azkal fan, @anilmorales took a swipe at Derek on Twitter on the
\nsame day.<\/p>\n

\u201cYung boyfriend mo na sobrang trying hard magpaka athlete wala namang naiuwing kahit ano.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the same night, Phil Younghusband gave his reaction on \u201cBandila\u201d regarding Panganiban\u2019s tweet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think Angelica realizes that indie film is not me acting,\u201d the football player explained. \u201cIt\u2019s not me getting into acting or being an artista. It\u2019s about football and it\u2019s about promoting football. Maybe she just misunderstood it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
